Hello, my name is Daniel, I am Eileen’s father. Eileen is 5 years old. She is a bright sweet loving little angel. She has had a rough go in life but doesn’t stop her from enjoying herself. She is our 2nd oldest of 4.She has had an unfortunate experience with a ruptured ear drum that has escalated to a blood clot reaching her brain. My wife took the kids to her parents house out of state for this holiday season. That’s when my wife noticed Eileen’s eyes having a different look than usual. She called her pediatrician from home and was told to rush Eileen to the closest ER. They were able to perform imaging and diagnosed her with a blood clot in the brain. After the diagnosis, Eileen was immediately transferred by ambulance to the UC Davis Children’s Hospital . She was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit. This whole series of events occurred a few days before Christmas. At the ICU we found out that Eileen not only has a blood clot in the brain but a bilateral ear infection that spread into her mastoid bone and blood. She had an emergency surgery where they performed a mastoidectomy. They needed to drill a whole in her bone to remove the infection as well as put drains in both of her ears to remove as much infection as possible. My wife has been at her bedside in the hospital trying to stay strong. I unfortunately can’t be there because I have to support us all financially, I’m out of state so I cannot leave and come back so frequently. I am in hope that we can raise some money for us to be able to spend time together once she is out of the hospital. Her recovery time can be up to one year where she will require a lot of medical attention and medical appointments with some out of state . Her current condition will require constant care. I want to make sure her recovery can be done in the most comfortable environment as we can make for her, but that involves us all being home and ready to help due to the fact that my wife is due to have our new baby in early march. It is so difficult asking for help, but in times like these, any help is greatly appreciated. Have a blessed day.
