Early on Tuesday morning, February 3, 2021, this loving mother was involved in an unforeseen accident that has left her in critical care. Kim had taken her dog outside sometime after midnight and tripped up on the leash. She fell from the top of her front porch all the way down to the corner of a concrete step. The only thing that caught her fall was her head. Kim sustained severe head trauma, neck, back, and spinal cord injuries in the relentless fall. She was rushed in for a lengthy emergency surgery. The doctors and first responders all agree she is lucky to be alive. Kim is a single mother who unfortunately lost her job last year after the pandemic surfaced. As hard as that was, she knew God had a purpose for her life, and found out exactly where she needed to be. Kim has been the primary caretaker of not only her daughter, but her father who suffers from dementia ever since. It hasn't been an easy task to take on, but she wouldn't have it any other way, and strives to find joy in the simplest moments. This accident will not only effect Kim's life, but it will ultimately cause disruption in her daughter, father, and sister's lives too. For now, Kim's sister will take care of their family; however, she won't be able to do it alone. The doctors feel optimistic about Kim's recovery, but confirm she has a long way to go. It's too early to determine if there will be any permanent damage, but there will absolutely be a lot of physical therapy and endless medical bills after Kim is released from the hospital. Covid has changed how we console our friends and loved ones in scary moments like these, but donating funds gives us the opportunity to let Kim and the family know we support them. Kim will remain in the hospital for at least a week and will not be able to hug her little girl during this time. The next several days will be extremely difficult for the entire family. Please continue to lift Kim and her family up in prayer, and if you are able, consider donating towards this fundraiser in hopes to bring her even the smallest amount of comfort.Organizer and beneficiary
