Recovery Fund for Valentine

Donation protected
On Friday night, Valentine was attacked by 3 adult pit bulls while we were on a walk. It took several people macing them, throwing trash cans, spraying water, and hitting them with sticks to get him free. Once he was freed he sprinted several blocks to get back home to safety; I am so, so grateful for all the people in that neighborhood who came out to help rescue him as well as keep the rest of us safe (I had to hide in a strangers house to keep away from the dogs, as they started going after us once we started pepper spraying us).
We took Valentine to the emergency vet since that was the only place open at that time, and they were able to treat his wounds after sedating and keeping him overnight. He is one of the most resilient, intelligent dogs I’ve ever met and it looks like he is going to recover physically, despite the severe attack he endured. His neck and legs are covered in wounds, some with stitches and some with open drains, and he’s not going to be able to play or explore for a long time.
Any help with his emergency vet bills would be so, so appreciated. It’s hard to prepare for an event like this, and unfortunately vet bills in these situations are always steep. I’m not sure how much future visits will cost, so I’m just putting the cost of his first visit here. Again, anything helps… Donations, sharing the post, giving him the biggest kiss next time you see him.
