Recovery Fund for Rockstar Evan
Donation protected
Aloha. I am putting together a fundraiser on behalf of the Padilla family due to an unforeseen medical emergency.
For those of you that know Evan, he is a very active, sweet, loving 13-year-old kid. He's a charger at everything he does, including surfing, skateboarding and fishing. Over the last few weeks, he started drinking a ton of water and eating a bunch, which is not typical for him. Even though he was taking in 2-3x his normal amount of food, he was losing weight. His mother, Tricia, knew something was not right so she took him in to be evaluated and tested. When the doctor received the results in the morning, she called Tricia at 6am urging to wake Evan and take him to the ER.
They ran another panel and immediately diagnosed him with Type I Diabetes. The blood results showed that his body was in Diabetic Keto Acidosis. Evan was Medevaced to Kapiolani Medical Center on Oahu from their home in Kauai to seek emergency medical attention. He was admitted into the ICU where he stayed for a few days before being moved to a step down unit where he is stable but can be closely monitored.
For those that know Tricia and Gaby they are the most giving, kind heart-ed parents and people. They have given so much love and support to their friends, family and Kauai (and Santa Cruz) community and now it is time for us to give back and help support Evan, Brayden, Tricia and Gaby.
With the unforeseen costs of medical bills, time out of work, and the equipment and medication that Evan will need from here on out, any financial support would be greatly appreciated and will help to reduce the stress significantly.
Please send all the positive thoughts you can to Evan, Brayden, Tricia and Gaby.
