Hi everyone,
I'm a friend and colleague of James' at Richmond General Hospital. I've got to know this wonderful, energetic and beautiful man over the last few years and I'm so grateful for his kindness and open mind: with friends, family and patients alike.
Sadly James had a fall when climbing stairs a few days back which led do some pretty extensive injuries to both his legs: broken bones and a ruptured quad tendon. These required a good deal of surgery. I can assure you that James is still James but he's looking a little disheveled (but jovial) on our surgical ward and he's pretty much wheelchair bound for some time to come. As a physiotherapist, I'd say it would be pretty ambitious for him to be back at work at our hospital in the next 3 to 4 months. As we all know, life is expensive and bills keep coming our way. It saddens me to think of how financial stress could impact his recovery. I'm wishing him a healthy healing environment: both in mind and body. So I'm putting the call out to those people whose lives are better for knowing him, as I know he'd do the same for me, or you. Any donation will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Simon Machnik
