On Monday, July 27th, Jay Ostvig fell from a high scaffold while painting his home in Moscow, Idaho. He was taken by life flight in critical condition to Harborview Hospital in Seattle with a broken back, torn aorta, broken ribs, fractured clavicle, and a severe concussion.  He survived nine hours of surgery to reinforce his spine and protect his spinal cord from further injury.  Two weeks and several surgeries later he is still in the ICU, but building strength each day. Jay is currently paralyzed from the chest down, but we are praying and hoping he will recover more mobility and sensation.  Jay is the father of 5 children and is married to his wife Jenni.  He is employed by Washington State University.  We are desperately in need of immediate funds to provide for the family during this recovery process. Jay is expected to be hospitalized for 1-3 months, then a very long physical therapy adjustment period.  Your contributions will be used to provide for the family's immediate needs, including housing, transportation, home remodel for handicap accessibility, and counseling.
