Earlier this year in Albuquerque, a young family in our church was hit hard by a very unexpected health tragedy. On June 27, our brother (Everitt Briley) found his wife on the floor- paralyzed, around midnight. Reina, a healthy 27-year-old mother of 3 girls, had suffered from a debilitating stroke. Doctors were able to act quickly to remove a blood clot, but soon after found a hole in Reina’s heart. It was difficult for Reina to speak or walk as a result of the specific kind of stroke she had, and she could have been paralyzed for life. Fortunately, Reina was able to start physical therapy soon after and has regained much of her strength and mobility. She has also had surgery to close the hole in her heart. As friends and family thank God for how far Reina has come in her recovery, we understand that there is still more progress to be made. Reina still experiences brain fatigue and is not able to do many of the things that she could do before having a stroke. Due to this, Reina has been advised by her doctors not to work at this time. Her doctors have also suggested that Everitt only work minimally so that he can be physically present to help Reina take care of their children. Over time, this has and will continue to impact the family financially. Under these circumstances, the Briley’s are in need of our help. The Briley's have been very instrumental in the building of the Kingdom here in the Albuquerque International Christian Church. They have both been humble and hardworking in their previous jobs while serving wholeheartedly to help the ministry grow. Through the years they have also been very sacrificial with their contribution and for every Special Missions (a special financial collection taken up twice a year by the church), they have given above and beyond! With their permission, my wife and I have organized this Go Fund Me on behalf of the Briley’s and are asking you to give what you can to help us reach a goal of $9,000.00. We believe that this amount will immediately offer some comfort and give the Brileys financial stability and more time to completely focus on Reina’s recovery. My wife and I love the Briley’s a lot and we believe that God’s people will take care of each other. Please help this family in their time of need.
