Recovery from Unemployment due to COVID-19

I would like to invite you to empower my family to recover from unemployment caused by COVID-19 by helping them, and a local Honduran community build a grocery store. Here is our story:

When the COVID-19 Pandemic started, thousands of people in Honduras and millions of people around the world lost their jobs. 2020 was a devastating year for many, including my family in Honduras. My aunt Julia is the bread winner of a house of four (my two cousins and grandma), however she lost her job due to the pandemic. This presented many problems as her pending loans increased in interest to 33% at a time of no income. Thankfully, at this same time I joined Microsoft Leap and was able to get my family out of debt. Aside from getting rid of the debt I have been sending money to them in Tegucigalpa every month for home utilities, food, as well as medicine for my 89-year-old grandmother. I currently cover 100% of my family in Honduras’ expenses. My hardworking aunt Julia realized there was a need for grocery goods in Tegucigalpa and quickly started her own grocery store. She not only wants to get back on her feet to take care of the family, but also wants to create a job opportunity for her and others. I grew up in Honduras and I am sad to see my family does not get the same opportunities I have in the United States. I am currently helping with as much as I can with this business, and I created this Go Fund Me to give others the opportunity to help empower my family to achieve more. Let's help each other and those in need during these unprecedented times.
