Recovery from ICU, trying to do better.

So, I just recently went through something I never truly expected would happen to me, and like life had that funny way of happening, I got humbled. I worked myself for years, 2 full-time jobs, to always give my family the life they deserve, and I believe this was my body's way of saying it's enough. I was sick for 3 weeks prior to this with the flu and then strep right after until I was diagnosed with pneumonia. On the 4th ER visit, they finally did an X-ray to find out that I had a fully collapsed lung on my left side and only 40% of usable lung space on my right side. I was effectively drowning in my own lungs. I was immediately put on a ventilator for 17 days and put into a medically induced coma. I will say I met a lot of amazing people in that ICU; they truly saved my life and called me a living miracle because I shouldn't have survived in any way. My mother slept on an air mattress in the waiting room, and every day she was there next to me as a lot of other people also came by to see me as well. A lot of prayers went out, but now I'm asking for help. Because with my lungs and body, I can't work for a minimum of 2 months. My mother spent almost $6,000 to keep my car and all my bills up to date for my family, and now I can't even work to live, let alone pay her back, so I'm asking all the people that know me or possibly that may be moved by this. But the people who do know me truly know I'm stubborn and independent, and I don't ask for help much, so it will hurt my pride a bit, but my mother deserves my effort, and I'm going to let this world humble me. I'm asking for help, and everything helps.
