Recovery for Michael Payne Stiles

Hello, my name is Jerry Stiles. We're not typically a couple to do this, but we need some help.

My wife, Michael Payne Stiles, had to have ACDF surgery on the 7th (4 vertebrae fused), which was a kind of last-minute emergency surgery.

She has been suffering with back pain for the last 3 years and required quarterly cortisone shots to help with the pain. A month and a half ago, the shots didn't work, so we got a second opinion from a reputable doctor at Tulsa Bone and Joint. He did an MRI and basically said, you need to be rushed into surgery. As most of you know, we are both self-employed and had not planned on any emergency surgery.

Michael has been a hairdresser for the last 20+ years, and it has really done a number on her upper body.

So we scheduled it and pushed it back 3 months, hoping we could swing it financially.

But winter months are not always great for her or my (construction) business. She was in so much pain, we decided to push forward with surgery, which left us with one income. Along with other personal events, this has pushed us to the brink with our funds.

Fortunately, we have insurance, which helped, but as most of you know, bills keep coming.

Surgery went well and a week in i can already tell this was the right decision but the recovery is a long process and she can't go back to work for at least 6 weeks and even then not full time.

I'm doing everything I can to keep money flowing, but October through February are my slow months, and we're struggling.

We're a very prideful couple, and usually, we just tighten up our belt before we ask for help, but times are tough, and we really could use some help.

Whatever funds we make will go directly to bills (medical and daily).
