Recovery for Little Bodhi

Hello everyone! As you may or may not know, Leslie and Mack’s little boy Bodhi fell ill earlier this week. After two terrifying days in the PICU, the doctors were able to determine through surgery that he was suffering from a severe intestinal issue, the extent of which is still not entirely known (I will post details in the updates).  

Now comes the cold, hard facts that no one likes to think about: During Leslie’s pregnancy, she was forced to take 14 weeks of unpaid leave due to health issues. During this time, the majority of their savings were used. She had only been back at work for 4 weeks when Bodhi fell ill and has not been able to build Paid Time Off. Mack has a little bit of PTO saved but that will soon be depleted. 

I’ve taken the initiative to set up this Go Fund Me in hopes that it will decrease their worry so they can focus 100% of their energy on their little baby. Currently Bodhi’s health care team is discussing the possibility of removing a section of his intestine due to lack of blood flow. This is a long recovery for an infant and a scary time for his parents. I calculated the donation amount based on what I thought would be appropriate for lost income during his recovery, but any little bit helps. Every penny received will go towards basic living expenses and required bills so that Leslie and Mack are able to stay home for as much time as they can during Bodhi’s recovery. It’s a terrifying time and their energy should be spent on loving their boy.  They may be too proud to ask, so I’m doing it for them:)
