Jeri Wood is a strong believer in God and she has faith that she can continue life against all odds. Jeri grew up in the foster care system and became disabled early in her adulthood due to a fall while working. She later faced raising her children as a single mother on a fixed income. She has always been a woman of faith, honesty, and very giving to others. She was displaced from her home in 2014 due to the property being bought and put on the market as condos for sale. Jeri had no where else to go and it was impossible to find housing with the high cost of living and her limited income. She has been homeless since 2014. On December 1st, 2015, Jeri was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and having metaplastic tumors, a rare condition. She was immediately advised to seek treatment. Unfortunately, due to not having a home, her doctor could not approve her to begin treatment because of the risk of developing an infection. Jeri has searched for housing and applied to several different low-income properties, however, due to high demands the wait is a minimum of 2 to 3 years.
