Recovery for Bob G.
Donation protected
Friends, we need your help! As most of you are well aware, Bobby Garger has struggled for many years with alcoholism and the loss of his wife didn’t help the situation. Last Thursday, September 12th, Bobby checked himself into the ER as his eyes were yellow and his stomach was hard. His liver was failing. By the grace of God, he doesn’t have cirrhosis but instead diagnosed with alcohol hepatitis of the liver and is on steroids, antibiotics and anxiety medication to help with the shakes and insomnia from withdrawals. For the last month, Bobby has told me that he desperately wants to stop drinking but would be too sick and shaking when he didn’t drink and therefore, was basically a slave to the alcohol. The ER helped tremendously as he was kept comfortable while not drinking. He hasn’t had alcohol since 6am on September 12th. Bobby attended an AA meeting on Monday in which he raised his hand for help and now has a sponsor. He looked at me during the AA meeting when getting up to get a coin for 24 hours of no drinking and said that he needs a forever coin. He is ready for his new beginning and a better life for him and his sweet autistic son, little Bobby. Bobby was also just approved for state funding for rehabilitation and is on a waiting list for 4 different facilities and our hope is that he will be in within the coming weeks. We expect that he will be in rehab around 60 days or so.
While in the rehab, Bobby obviously can not work and therefore needs help with bills as he is already behind from being in the hospital. Please consider donating to this GoFundMe to help Bobby and his recovery. I will personally be paying his bills with the money that is donated. Additionally, please pray for Bobby and his son. We are working on finding help to care for little Bobby while Big Bobby is in rehabilitation. We have two weeks covered thus far for little Bobby’s care and a backup plan if we can’t find additional help and keep him in the same school locally. God bless and thank you for your help.
