Recovery for Abel Short
Donation protected
Six year old Abel Short was flown to Denver Sunday (1/23) after suffering a stroke. He underwent brain surgery Monday morning and continues to receive care at Children's Hospital. He is currently in the ICU and on a ventilator as of Saturday, 1/29. His most recent MRI was stable and showing recovery. The current outcome is unknown and long term rehab may be required.
All who know Abel are aware of his sweetness and boundless energy. He lights up a room and brings joy to so many, including his friends and classmates in Kindergarten at Riverview Elementary.
This event has been life changing for Abel as well as his family, especially his parents Kelly Prichard and Johnathan Short as well as his sister Ingrid. They are being strong for their little boy but the toll this takes is heavy. May we all embody love, patience, hope and positivity for Abel and his family during this horribly difficult time.
Funds will be used for medical bills, travel expenses, and temporary housing for the family while Abel continues treatment in Denver.
