Recovery Expenses of Hector Ivan Quintero

On June 13, 2020, two-year old Hector was outside in the backyard playing with his older siblings when the door that leads to the alley was open and he walked out into the alley to follow his siblings that were recovering a loose ball. In the moments that followed, a car entering the alley at a high speed, hit and ran over Hector leaving him bloody and unconscious on the floor. When ambulances arrived they rushed him to Loyola Hospital located on 1st Ave.in Maywood. Doctors determined he was in critical condition. Later on the family was told that Hector had a broken leg, severe damage to his head, and a punctured liver along with many cuts and bruises. To this day Hector is still in the hospital unconscious. He so far has undergone two surgeries and is still attached to a respirator.  During the hospital stay he  has had several stages of instability where he returns to a more critical stage.
We created this Gofundme  page to help aid Hector and his family with the expensive hospital costs that continue to pile up. During this unfortunate time, Hector's parents have been by his side day and night and have not been able to work so that they can be alert to any new information or updates given about their son. We started with a goal of $10,000 just as a small help towards Hector's hospital expenses and help his parents with their family expenses because they also have 4 other children. As hospital expenses keep increasing it is hard to say how much money will be needed but every little bit will help out the Quintero Family. 
El 13 de junio de 2020, Héctor, de dos años, estaba afuera en el patio jugando con sus hermanos mayores cuando la puerta que conduce al callejón estaba abierta y salió al callejón para seguir a sus hermanos que estaban recuperando una pelota suelta. En los momentos que siguieron, un automóvil que entró en el callejón a gran velocidad, golpeó y atropelló a Héctor, dejándolo ensangrentado e inconsciente en el suelo. Cuando llegaron las ambulancias, lo llevaron al Hospital Loyola, ubicado en la 1.ª avenida en Maywood. Los médicos determinaron que estaba en estado crítico. Más tarde, le dijeron a la familia que Héctor tenía una pierna rota, un daño severo en la cabeza y un hígado perforado junto con muchas cortadas y contusiones. Hasta el día de hoy, Héctor sigue inconsciente en el hospital. Hasta ahora se ha sometido a dos cirugías y todavía está conectado a un respirador. Durante la estadía en el hospital, ha tenido varias etapas de inestabilidad donde regresa a una etapa más crítica.
Creamos esta página de Gofundme para ayudar a Héctor y su familia con los gastos costosos del hospital que continúan acumulándose. Durante este tiempo desafortunado, los padres de Héctor han estado a su lado día y noche y no han podido trabajar para poder estar al cuidado de cualquier información nueva o actualizaciones sobre su hijo. Comenzamos con una meta de $ 10,000 solo como una pequeña ayuda para los gastos hospitalarios de Héctor y para poder ayudar a sus padres con sus gastos familiares porque también tienen otros 4 hijos.
