Recovery Expenses For Gerard

From my sister Jessie:
Gerard had a sudden onset of severe headaches that started February 25th while on vacation. He thought he slept in a bad position and was trying to manage it with otc medications. It lasted several days and got worse. He wasn’t able to take it anymore and on March 1st was taken to the emergency room where they told him it was just a pinched nerve or a neck strain and sent him home. That night he couldn’t sleep at all and asked to go to the emergency room again. He was admitted right away. They did a CT scan and found a subdural hematoma (blood between both sides of his brain and his skull). They also found his brain to be sagging due to low pressure. This is because there is a cerebrospinal fluid leak somewhere in his body that needed to be patched. They did an MRI but it wasn’t clear on where the leak is. They then did a procedure called an epidural blood patch in his spine in hopes it would somehow reach the hole. He is still in the hospital awaiting to see if the procedure worked. It’s possible they may need to repeat it.

My sister and her family went to CA to visit their family and unfortunately this unforeseen emergency occurred. I am asking all those that know my sister and Gerard come together to help them during this time.

Thank you for your support!
