Recovery Care for Monty Bebout
Donation protected
On Sunday, November 14, Monta Vaden's brother, Monty Bebout, was hit by a drunk driver on Pellissippi Parkway who then fled on foot. Monty suffered a traumatic brain injury, brain bleed, and concussion; a dissected aorta and injured spleen; two broken humerus bones, a broken leg, a dislocated and fractured hip, multiple broken ribs, and fractures in his spine. He was sent to the University of Tennessee ICU/Trauma center and underwent multiple surgeries.
Monty had just started a new job with Green Mountain Coffee two weeks prior, and his health insurance had not kicked in. Due to his extensive injuries, Monty will need to undergo in-patient rehab and extensive physical therapy and will be out of work for many months … or more.
While he is ready to be medically cleared for discharge, Monta and Monty are currently financially unable to cover the cost of his rehabilitation and after-care, which would have been supported by health insurance had he already been with his employer for 90 days. In addition to his ongoing rehabilitation, Monty will also need medical support devices and housing modifications made for the duration of his after care.
Any support you can offer – be it a contribution of $5, a share of this fundraiser, or continued thoughts and prayers – are welcomed and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your consideration and willingness to offer support in a time of need.
