Recovery and Relief for Janine

Dear friends and family of Janine,

You probably already know that Janine is kind and generous and hilarious- and also not someone who easily asks for help when she needs it. But she has reluctantly agreed to allow me to start this fundraiser for her.

I’ll cut to the chase. Janine was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. She will undergo surgery on December 7th, and will not know exactly what it is or what further treatment is needed until after that. She will need at least 4-6 weeks off work to recover, and possibly more depending on the nature of the tumor. She does have decent health insurance and will get short term disability for her time off work, but there will still be a significant loss in income and considerable medical expenses.

You may know that Janine went through serious health issues several years ago that also required a lot of time off work and loss of income. I would like for this time to be more comfortable for her. I am setting the goal for this fundraiser to at least cover her lost income so that she can just concentrate on her recovery and next steps. It would be great if we could raise a bit more to allow her the ability to treat herself a little and have some extra breathing room during this time.
