Recovery and Rehab Costs
Donation protected
On January 2nd our son Daelin suffered a serious head injury from a sledding accident. We took him to the ER where a CT scan revealed he had a temporal skull fracture, several facial fractures, a bleed on the brain and on top of all that he tested positive for covid. He was taken to the ICU and monitored over night, by morning the bleed had grown to 5mm and they took him to surgery. The neuro surgeon found a blood vessel that had ruptured which he cauterized to stop the bleeding. Daelin now has a 9’ incision down the side of his head and titanium brackets holding his skull together. He was in the hospital a total of 4 days and is now home and doing well but will need future rehabilitation at a concussion center which will not be covered by his insurance. His recovery is going to take a couple of months of close monitoring and limited activity and making sure he can get full function of his brain back. When all this happened time off from work had to be taken and that with the medical bills that we are going to have will break us. Daelin does have insurance , but it’s not going to cover all of the costs of hospital bills, rehab bills and other recovery costs (like meds and school needs). As well as our bills are piling up from time taken off work.
Any donation will help no matter how small and our greatest thanks to everyone that has been supporting us through this trying time.
