Recovery and peace of mind for Kate
Donation protected
My dearest and best friend Kate was in a horrific accident on Saturday, April 27th 2019. She was driving home from Morro Bay on highway 41 when her car veered off of the road and crashed into a tree. Kate then quickly realized that she was pinned in the car and experiencing excruciating pain radiating through her entire body. Luckily a pedestrian who was nearby came to her aid, and stayed with her until emergency response arrived.
Her car was in such a mangled state that they had to use the jaws of life to cut open the vehicle to finally free kate, after 45 long minutes of what kate describes as “surreal and terrifying”.
Kate was very lucky in surviving the crash with only a broken femur, clavicle and entire body bruising and lesions. We’re so so lucky she’s ok!
Kate had a five day long stay at Sierra vista hospital, where she received wonderful around the clock care and underwent reconstructive surgery on her right leg.
Kate is now home and the reality of all that is to come is presenting itself as a long and difficult road.
Kate will be in a wheelchair for twelve weeks and cannot work while her body is healing. She will be non-weight bearing for those twelve weeks and followed by many months of Physical therapy. This is going to create a unfortunate financial burden, during a time that kate really needs some peace of mind to heal, learn her body over again -and work through this life altering experience.
In support of Kate for the months to come, we can help her cover her living expenses, medical bills and come together to relieve her from the worry and stresses that will only delay her in her recovery. Everything helps, small or big! Whatever is possible for you to offer, will be enormously felt and appreciated by Kate and her family, who is supporting and have taken over as her soul care-takers during this time.
With so much love,
Hailey
