Recovering stroke acute kidney failure

My name is Tim Thornton. In September 2022, I suffered from two major strokes. They have left me physically impaired and unable to function well on my own.

I was forced to leave my profession of 18 years in the airline industry and move in with my Mom. She helps take car of me, driving me to appointments for physiotherapy, speech therapy, and dialysis 3 times a week (among a bunch of other things). I have applied to SSI 3 times and have been denied everytime.

Recently, after a diagnosis of diabetes, I was also diagnosed with Acute Kidney Failure. While the dialysis seems to be helping, cancer cells have also been found to be present in my kidneys.

I am extremely tired, and just trying to get by until my SSI gets approved. I have another hearing with my lawyer and the SSI representatives in January. I just want help with bills until then. I am unable to work, and am barely able to take myself for walks. I deal with chronic tiredness, pain, discomfort, and a lack of mobility and speech is heavily impaired. I have tried everything possible and am still fighting to get better; even though I have a great support system, I feel it's time to ask for some outside help.

I spend most of my free time at home, as I am too exhausted to get out of the house much. Thankfully my Mom and Nephew take me for walks and help me keep up with my physio. As a result of my disability, I have lost the ability to work, drive, and have lost most of my favorite passtimes. I am goal driven and really want to get my life back. I just need some help in the meantime. Once I am approved for SSI, I will have my monthly expenses taken care of. The financial stress being lifted from my shoulders would allow me to focus more on getting better.

I was an avid hunter, spent time working on and riding my motorbike, and I love aviation. I want to get back to live football games too. I miss the freedom of being able to go out on my own and experience nature, the open road, and most importantly having the power to just exist and live on my own. I am determined to get back to living, not just surviving. Any and all help is very much appreciated.
