Recovering loss from a used car scam

Hello! My name is Rowan Vasquez,
I just recently moved from Alaska to begin my new journey in Oregon. My plan before college was to get my vehicle, visit family in Washington and make my way down to Oregon in time for college. After purchasing my vehicle I made sure to test drive the car before I took the long trip down.
Only after 3 days of driving my new car, it broke down. The vehicle had been scammed. Unfortunately for me I bought the car from a private seller. This meaning I can’t use lemon law to protect myself from a scam like this. I had a mechanic look at the vehicle, he informed me that I would need a new engine/motor. My car is a 2003 Honda Civic Lx Sedan, a new engine would cost around $3,000-$4,000 and that’s not including the fee’s for labor. I purchased the vehicle for $2,500 and only drove it 3 times. The money I had set aside was used on my scammed one. I am now currently looking for a new vehicle and a way to purchase one.
Western Oregon University begins classes on September 28th. Anything that can help me get a new car and get me to college would be a blessing. I’m thankful for all the love and support I receive from my family and friends. I know I will get through this!
If you have any questions or would like to know more please feel free to message me on [email redacted]quez
Thank you so much!
