I'm not usually the one asking for help, but this time I could really use some assistance. The bills for things that are totally out of my control just keep piling up, and I don't know what to do except start crowdfunding. Please help!
I live in Bradenton FL and back in October, my home was severely damaged from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. My pool cage was crushed by an FPL power pole, my fence was destroyed, and I lost a lot of siding from my house. After a lengthy battle with insurance and FEMA to try and get some coverage for the damages, they have both declined to offer any assistance. FEMA thinks my insurance should cover the damages, and the insurance is refusing to cover the damages since their adjuster thinks the cost would be less than my deductible (which it definitely won't be). Plus, they are declining to cover the costs of the fence and pool cage, which FPL will not pay for, even though it was their power pole that crushed it. The cost to fix just the pool cage will be at least $15,000 - $20,000, not to mention the siding on the house.
This past Christmas, I needed to go to the emergency room for what ended up being a gallstone blocking my bile duct. I spent four days in the hospital, was subjected to every test imaginable, and the bill came out to over $5,000 even after insurance. In addition, my health insurance declined to cover some of the diagnostic testing that was needed during my stay in the hospital, so I'm stuck with the bill.
Now they want me to schedule a surgery to have my gallbladder removed. There is just no way I'm going to be able to afford that. There's something very wrong with our healthcare system when the healthcare I need to live is beyond my reach because of the high costs.
Lastly, I have an older car and just had to pay $1,400 for repairs to keep it running.
It's just one thing after another lately, and I can't keep up with the costs. Your donations will only be spent on those costs that are absolutely neccessary. Please help!
