Fighting Heart Failure While Caring for My Children
Hi everyone, my name is Yahyah Muhammad, and I never imagined I’d be writing something like this.
Earlier this year, after battling a severe case of COVID, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). My heart function had dropped to just 10%, and doctors said I was lucky to still be alive.
Since May, I’ve been fighting back through cardiac rehab, strict medications, and lifestyle changes. I’m now up to 20% heart function, and while that’s progress, my daily life has completely changed. I’m unable to work like I used to, and my focus now is healing, staying strong for my children, and rebuilding our stability one day at a time.

❤️ About My Family
I’m a father of five biological children and two stepchildren — they’re my entire world. Before I got sick, I worked hard and earned a substantial income to provide them with the stability every child deserves. But this illness changed everything almost overnight.
Within nine months, I went from being a provider to fighting to keep the lights on, food on the table, and gas in the car to get to rehab. My rainy-day fund ran out trying to keep us afloat as medical bills, travel expenses, and the cost of daily living piled up.

What I’m Asking For
While I’m waiting for Social Security Disability approval, my family and I need help covering:
• Rent and essential bills
• Travel to cardiac rehab and doctor appointments
• Food and basic necessities for my children
• Ongoing medical costs not covered by insurance
• Everyday needs for the kids as the holidays approach
Every single dollar will go directly toward these essentials while I continue cardiac rehab and healing.

Why I’m Asking for Help
I’ve always been someone who took pride in standing on my own two feet. Asking for help isn’t easy for me — but my reality has changed. My children need me alive and stable, and I’m doing everything in my power to make that happen.
Your donation, no matter how small, makes a real and immediate difference. It helps keep our household running, ensures I can keep attending rehab, and gives my kids the peace of mind that their father is still fighting for them.

Thank You
Thank you for reading my story, for sharing, and for supporting us in any way you can — whether that’s through a donation, a share, or even a prayer.
Every bit of encouragement helps me push through another day of recovery. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me and my family.
With gratitude and faith,
– Yahyah Muhammad & Family
