In October 2023, while attempting to manage a different medical issue, the vet found a mass in the lung of Boba, our beloved cat. Repeated imaging and a biopsy in February confirmed the presence of a tumor about the size of a ping pong ball in his left lung. We received a very optimistic prognosis from the surgeon based on there only being one mass, and it being far enough away from the heart to have a good chance of removing the entire lung lobe without impacting any other system.
With money being the only barrier to extending Boba’s life by several years, we proceeded with the surgery on April 17. Our little man has been recovering very well since then, fully back to his normal goofy and loving self after only a week. This is a surgery that we technically have the money for, but one that almost entirely depletes our combined savings. With Abi paying off high-interest private loans for nursing school, Dylan saving money for grad school, and two cars that often appear on the verge of failure, this $10,000 expense is yet another stress on our finances. We are humbly and graciously accepting donations to reduce our debt burden and continue giving Boba the best life we can provide. We’re not expecting to recoup the entire 10k but every bit helps!
