UPDATE: Mike was shot in the chest while on Antelope Island November 8th, 2023. This random act of violence has left him recovering from ongoing complications as he continues to work with his trauma team at the UofU hospital. Health professionals estimate it will still take a few months to recover. Mike is deeply humbled and grateful for all the support he has received in this time of need. He has heard from work colleagues both past and present, old and new friends and has felt their love and support which has made a huge difference in his recovery. The well wishes, meals, gifts, prayers and financial support has been greatly appreciated! You can see from the updated photo that Mike has lost significant amount of weight and will be working to rebuild his muscle mass in the coming months. He looks forward to returning to normal life with his work and hiking/hunting family.

He was life-flighted by AirMed and received life-saving care at the University of Utah Intensive Care Unit.
