My name is Emily and about a year ago, while I was sitting at a red light, a driver off-roaded from the highway going (according to a witness) about 70-80mph. I was told he did not brake and seemed to accelerate, hitting me so hard, he spun me into a neighboring parking lot and totaled my car and sent me to the hospital. My car was actually the only thing I had from my great grandmother and I was told if I had been in just about any other car, I may not have walked away.

Starting the night I got home from the ER, I began to notice my hands were not acting like they should. I was dropping things, they felt weak, I was having pain from my neck shooting down my left arm. Treatment is still in progress even a year later. I am just hoping I can be able to play guitar again, but we'll see.

Basically, with the work I've missed (for appointments, procedures, and days the neck and back pain is too intense to get out of bed. I am still working fulltime), with the expenses of going from a paid off car to a car payment, with medical visits, copays, coinsurance, PT, meds, etc, finances have been greatly strained. Other emergencies have happened with car maintenance, emergency vet bills, and other medical issues with poor timing further straining finances.

Due to these factors, I'm trying to recover from some of these damages in order to move forward as I currently feel as though I'm struggling to keep above water. I've had folks express a desire to assist with this, so I wanted to create this to allow that help.
