Hello, our names are Jon and Myra Allen, and we are reaching out to you for help. Our family and business have been deeply affected by a betrayal of trust that has left us in a challenging financial situation.

On January 20, 2025, the police formally charged my former business manager, Monika Manhas, with fraud and theft during her time at Albert Orthotic & Prosthetic Centre. The impact of her actions has been life-changing. Over the past two years, we have invested an incredible amount of time and money to reach this point.

We have been urged by many to start a GoFundMe, and making this decision was not easy. Asking for help is difficult, but sometimes it’s necessary. We are now asking for your help to recoup the costs incurred due to this fraud. In cases like this, significant expenses are required for forensic reports and legal fees to ensure the perpetrator faces consequences.

The fraud took place during a particularly challenging time for our family. Myra was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer, and 1.5 years after the first diagnosis, she faced an unrelated cancer diagnosis. After her second diagnosis, Myra had to retire due to health reasons. Despite these personal battles, we have spent $74,000 on the forensic accounting report and $50,000 on legal fees. To cover these costs, we have had to remortgage our house and dip into our retirement funds. If we could even recover a portion of these expenses, it would greatly help us get back on our feet.
