Recoup Construction Scam Debt Amidst Cancer Battle

Donation protected
The Payne family, who have been facing unimaginable challenges over the past few years is finally saying enough is enough. In the midst of their retirement, they were struck by the devastating news of Andre’s cancer diagnosis. As if this weren't enough to contend with, their journey has been further complicated by unethical and dodgy “contractors” in Tennessee.

The Andre and Debrah Payne had a dream: to renovate the home that he once paid off for his mother after his first retirement from Nissan— making it comfortable for her until her death in 2019. It’s the place where he and his family had grown up, the place that he repurchased after his mothers passing, the place that would be the most comfortable and supportive environment as he underwent cancer treatments. However, what should have been a beacon of hope turned into a nightmare when an unlicensed contractor manipulated and exploited them through price gouging, taking their hard-earned money and disappearing without fixing or completing shoddy work or offering refunds.

Faced with mounting medical bills, back and forth hospital stays and visits for chemotherapy, radiation and tireless caretaking that Debrah had and continues to endure without fail, the Paynes had to make a difficult decision in order to stabilize a safe living environment. The Paynes were forced to sell their inheritance property intended to sustain them during retirement. They tirelessly sought out new contractors and subcontractors to finish the renovations, only to discover mold infestations throughout the home after moving in a few months prior, compromising their health even further.

Throughout this ordeal, the Paynes have had to endure constant upheaval, back and forth moving to another place while managing contractors, doctors' appointments, medications, and the challenges of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Their story is not just one of personal hardship, but also a stark reminder of the need to expose and address unethical practices by contractors in Tennessee, especially when they target the elderly and vulnerable.

We are asking this you consider rallying behind the Payne family to help them recoup the staggering construction debt they've incurred during this difficult time, especially considering the medical bills they are responsible for as well. Your generous support will not only provide much-needed financial relief, but also help shed light on the need for stronger protections for susceptible individuals facing similar challenges. The unlicensed contractors must be stopped.

Together, let's stand with the Payne family and work towards ensuring that no one else has to endure what they've experienced. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a world of difference in their journey towards healing and justice.

Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and support.
