Last Thursday Dolly took a pot of boiling water and hot spaghetti to the feet, which resulted in second degree burns.

She works in a kitchen. That means she has to stand for 8+ hours and wear closed toe shoes, so she’s been out of work.

After a 6 hour emergency room trip, a week of rest, and lots of TLC she went back to the UIHC’s burn clinic and was told she may not return to work for up to two more weeks— worst case scenario is a skin graft meaning even more time taken off work.

Since this happened at home (not a worker’s comp type thang), Dolly has basically no income until she’s able to get back to cooking. Rent and monthly bills are coming soon and her car just got towed by the city this weekend.

Her feet at looking a whole lot better than they did even a few days ago, but even two weeks off an hourly-paid job is no joke, so we’re trying to recoup funds for the time she’ll be out.
