CD Recording of Russell Pascoe's Secular Requiem

Donation protected
The opportunity has arisen for my Secular Requiem to be recorded by Regent Records, It will be performed by Truro Cathedral Choir, BBC National Orchestra of Wales with soloists Cathryn Wyn Rogers and Julien Van Mellaerts  conducted by Christopher Gray.

It is incredible that there are so few secular pieces of choral music about death. The Secular Requiem aims to be relevant to people today; it is aimed at all people - those with or without a religious faith.

Anthony Pinching selected texts from world literature and arranged them in sections to reflect the recognised five stages of grief, ending in acceptance of death as part of the cycle of Nature.

Response from the full-house audience at Truro Cathedral after the first performance was captured in the review by Judith Whitehouse for The West Briton: "[the] huge audience...rose to their feet in one of the most prolonged and noisy ovations in the Cathedral for some time". The same happened after the first London performance at Cadogan Hall.

I am hoping this will be a breakthrough for my music getting over the Tamar, BBC Radio 3 will broadcast the recording and we hope that Classic FM will also take it up, leading to performances by choirs and orchestras across the UK and further afield.
