Recording Project: In the Open

Hi Friends & Family — Thank you for joining me here!

I am in the midst of gathering support for recording an album...a music project that will also support the spiritual, physical, emotional and mental needs of others in the community! For the first full year of music and event sales, 100% of the profit will be GIVEN BACK to others who are in need.

A B O U T    T H E     A L B U M

This musical journey is inspired by Psalm 18:19, "He brought me into wide open spaces; he rescued me because he delighted in me." The best way that I can describe these songs, is that they are my own expression of Psalms to the Lord. Digging deeper, uprooting untruth, asking questions, expressing doubt—giving God space to speak and renew and bring me into new, open spaces of hope. He truly has saved me from myself, from my places of hiding, and shown his kindness to me.

For as long as I can remember, music and writing have been a part of me. I’ve considered it an honor to hold this weight as a creative human and an artist, and will always strive to cultivate the space needed to bring forth lyrical and melodic journeys. This project needed time to work its way out in my own heart and life first before I could bring it to life for anyone else. I have been waiting for this moment, and I am so happy that it's finally here!

It's an odd thing to ask for support for what we might call "a passion," considering all of the greater, more immediate needs existing all around us. If you are struck by the dollar amount being pursued, please know it's been thoughtfully considered and mapped out in detail how it will be used: to honor musicians, rent essential gear and spaces, and create a beautiful and impactful result. (An aside: to be honest, this goal is a modest one in the world of modern music production, but I trust God's leading and know he will do great things!)

As I wrestle with the internal struggle of asking for help, I also have to remember the joy that I have felt in helping other friends of mine reach their goals and do amazing things because I contributed. But I say this intentionally, this passion is neither trite nor sudden. It's been a word of truth that has been burning in my heart and mind for years, and is now ready to be heard and experienced by others.

I truly believe that this music and this lyrical journey will bring spiritual healing and deeper understanding of the Father's compassion. I believe it will give anyone who listens permission to come out of their hiding, to step out of the shame they've become too comfortable in, to loosen clenched fists of resentment and fear and predictability. We are meant to be free, and we are meant to thrive in the open spaces that he has waiting.

THANKS AGAIN for joining me here — p
lease take a pause and consider helping to bring this music to life! I can't wait to see how God uses it to shift perspectives and break new ground.

A special thanks to my friends Kate Hull for the beautiful ocean footage in the above lyric video, and to Eric Macias for recording the preview track of "Carry Me."
