Recording album #3

Hello! Gypsy Chicken is a band founded, managed and led by two ladies, Solvei Stenslie and Joanna (Asia) Kreft. We're heading into studio for our third album February 22-26th and March 6-10th. The anticipated release is November 2023. It's gonna be exciting! It's also gonna be expensive... a rundown of the costs:

Studio: 12 500 NOK ($1,268)

Producer: 50 000 NOK ($4,754)

Mixing: 36 000 NOK ($3,652)

Mastering: 6 000 NOK ($608)

Cover art: 10 000 NOK ($1,014)

Total: 114 000 NOK ($11,564)

Why take such an expensive route? Why help sponsor such a big bill? Lots of bands do home recording on low budgets, and this is also an awesome way to go. But every dime we spend goes onwards to other artists/art institutions; towards making local art scenes go round Every aspect of recording an album is a specialized art in its own right: production, mixing, mastering, cover art. By contributing to the album, you help support a whole ecosystem of creative people (including us, so that we do not have to eat rice for 3 months after the bill comes).
