Mi chiamo Vittoria Bussi e sono una matematica. E una ciclista professionista.
Nel 2018 ho conquistato il Record del Mondo dell’Ora su pista in bicicletta: 48,007 km. A settembre 2021 il mio record è stato battuto.
Nel 2023 sono pronta a riprendermelo, e questo è “Road 2 Record”.
Quasi pronta. Perché accedere al record dell’ora comporta delle spese ingenti, e per completare il budget che serve a ufficializzare il mio tentativo ho bisogno del vostro aiuto.
Perché dovreste aiutarmi?
Perché il record è qualcosa che va oltre il risultato sportivo. Rappresenta una possibilità che oggi date a me e che domani sarà il sogno di una giovane ciclista; la possibilità di credere e andare fino in fondo nonostante le strade da percorrere siano spesso tortuose per chi sceglie di essere un’atleta indipendente e imprenditrice di se stessa.
Tutto quello che ho imparato e ricevuto in questi anni, fuori e dentro la pista, voglio restituirlo.
- Con le mie competenze di matematica contribuisco agli studi aerodinamici e tecnologici del progetto: intendo abbattere il muro dei 50km per portare il record femminile nella stessa 'finestra' di quello maschile.
- Mi batto per promuovere un cambiamento culturale affinché la sicurezza sulle strade non sia più una speranza ma una realtà.
Mi impegno perché il ciclismo femminile abbia un trattamento di pari dignità rispetto a quello maschile. Perciò il mio desiderio è di fondare un’accademia di ciclismo dedicata a una nuova generazione di atlete, ragazze che siano consapevoli del loro valore, al di là del risultato.
Perché lo sport cambia la vita. L'ho provato sulla mia pelle.
In pista sembro sola contro il tempo, ma sola non lo sono mai perché con me porto tutte le persone che credono nella mia lotta. Grazie a chi vorrà sostenermi in questa nuova impresa.

My name is Vittoria Bussi, I am a mathematician and a professional cyclist.
In 2018 I set the Women’s UCI Hour Record of 48,007km. In September 2021 my record was broken.
In 2023, I am ready to take it back, and this is 'Road2Record'.
Well, I’m almost ready.
Accessing the Hour Record implies huge expenses, and I ask for your help to fulfil the required budget.

Winning this record is something that goes beyond a sport achievement.
The opportunity you give me today will be the opportunity you give tomorrow to other young cyclists, to fulfill their dream; it is also the opportunity to believe and go all the way despite the fact that the roads ahead are often winding for those who choose to be independent athletes and entrepreneurs of themselves.
Everything I’ve learned and experienced over the past years, I want to give it back by promoting cycling safety and equality; I strongly believe that cycling should be a sport within everyone’s reach. And I want to start a cycling academy dedicated to a new generation of female athletes.
As a mathematician, I contribute to aerodynamic and technological studies, aiming to break the 50km mark in the next attempt at the women's UCI Hour Record.
Sport changes lives. I have experienced it firsthand. On the track, it looks like I’m alone against the clock, but I am not: because I bring with me all the people who believe in my struggle and see themselves in it.
