Head of the Red Gun & Archery Club in Breckenridge, MN, is a Non Profit multipurpose facility offering trap shooting, skeet and five stand. We are the home of the Wahpeton, ND Huskie High school Trap team, Breckenridge, MN Bigshots High school Trap team and NDSCS College Trap team. Men and women of all ages come to use this facility. The facility is open May through September and brings participants and spectators from around the area.
The Head of the Red Gun & Archery Club needs reconstruction and drainage work done on the existing parking lot. 1st stage to get going on this project is $75,000.00. The current parking lot is made of dirt and gravel and is not constructed to let the rainwater flow off, especially at the beginning of each season when the frost is still coming out of the ground. The water pools with any amount of precipitation. Since the parking lot gets used daily, even in the early spring, there is no time for it to dry up enough not to leave large ruts. The large tracks hold even more water, continuing the problem throughout the year.
Volunteers spend countless hours "dragging" this area to help dry it out for the many vehicles that use this space. However, with the weather (snow/ice melt coupled with the spring thaw, mixed in with the spring rain showers) this is never ending battle. Without the reconstruction there is no relief in site.
To reconstruct the area correctly, the current material will need to be removed down to the clay. Then layered with gravel, fabic, crushed concrete and then gravel.
This project can not be made possible without donations.
