Hello, my name is Catarina and I am asking for your help during a very difficult time. I lived most of my life in Lisbon, but always with the dream and desire to live in a place where I could be self-sufficient, where I could provide for myself and my son. This house fulfilled that dream, and in recent years I would say that I have managed to achieve part of that dream. I can produce enough olive oil for us, and the vegetables I grow make up at least 50% of what we eat. We have 2 chickens that give us the eggs we need. This year I got sick and couldn't plant anything, but I will do it again. In these 4 years I have planted 9 fruit trees that will one day feed us in the future. In recent days, Storm Claudia hit our region hard and my roof suffered serious damage. Water entered the house, affecting not only the structure but also the comfort and safety of my home.

Seeing my house—the dream of a lifetime, the place where I keep memories and where I should feel peace—transformed into vulnerability is devastating. I feel powerless and without alternatives.

Unfortunately, and despite the repairs I've made, the storm destroyed the structure, making the reconstruction costs very high, and I cannot afford them alone. Therefore, I created this campaign to ask for support. Every contribution, however small, will help repair the roof, protect my family, and restore our peace of mind of having a safe home.

Nos últimos dias, a tempestade Claudia e agora a kristin atingiu fortemente a nossa região e o meu telhado sofreu danos graves. A água entrou em casa, afetando não só a estrutura mas também o conforto e a segurança do meu lar.

Cada gota que entra pela cobertura danificada é um lembrete doloroso de que já não tenho um lar seguro, e que a qualquer momento pode cair toda a estrutura.

Infelizmente, e apesar das reparações que tenho feito, a tempestade arrasou com a estrutura, o telhado abateu em vários sitios, o que tornou os custos de reconstrução muito elevados e não consigo suportá-los sozinha.
