This story starts with a few retired Recon Corpsmen talking about getting some of the "old" dudes together for a camp out. This conversation lasted 2 seconds until we started talking about getting the band back together; which quickly led to all of us (Frank/Mike/Steve) wanting to invite every brother/sister you'd have in a foxhole with you. Of course we started with those closest....and then we heard the news.
***A couple of the brother's wives are battling cancer***
This goes out to all brothers & sisters going through a rough time... Our goal is to help each and every one of you. To keep the focus on the immediate, and to get this out, I will focus our on 5 meter target:
Immediately: This week I learned the prognosis of Brian's Paula:
-For those of you that know Brian, he is a Recon Corpsman I had the privilege of serving with. He is a brother!
-Paula was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2020. She received treatment over the last year, but the cancer metastasized to her liver, into her bones, and is now spread throughout her body.
-Paula and was recently discharged. She is currently at home where Brian is her main caregiver, and with the help of his mother and father is attempting to figure out life while raising his son and trying to keep his bride as comfortable as possible.
-We are asking for donations to help with what's next. Currently living in Fl with no family close by, Brian plans to move back to Georgia where he has his mother and father to help raise their son while Brian works his 24 hour FireFighter Paramedic shifts.
-We seek help. Help for a brother that has given MORE than his share and never asked for a thing in return. We ask for help to Pay for the funeral of an amazing, beautiful, kind, caring, best friend a brother could have... We are asking to donate to help pay for movers to assist Brian's move.
Right now we are focusing on our 5 meter target: Brian's Paula.
*Shep- another Recon Corpsman's wife Eleasha is in a battle. With what????
For several months she gotten the run around without definitive answers. She has lost 30 lbs in the last couple months, has global lymphadenopathy, and has night sweats. Eleasha just had a biopsy done Friday and both are waiting for answers. Brian said it best: "Shep, I hope it's nothing, or it's nothing more. If it is, you'll know why I have a hard time saying anything more. God bless you and your families."
*There are MANY more people that can be added to this list. Right now we ask you to help Brian. He is going to need it.
Thank you.
