Please Help Me Fight Lyme Disease!
Approximately seven years ago, after a tick bite on Martha’s Vineyard, I contracted Lyme Disease. Early symptoms appeared almost immediately. I saw doctors and began following the protocol of antibiotics, many times forced to visit local emergency rooms when my symptoms worsened.
After a multitude of natural and traditional medicines, as well as acupressure, acupuncture, massage, meditation, exercising/not exercising, spending months in bed, and completely debilitating (that adjective understates it) migraines, the symptoms continue to intensify.
I am clinically diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, migraines, and depression (One doctor remarked, without humor, “Who wouldn’t be depressed, with your symptoms?”). Weird and extraneous symptoms include poison ivy-like body rashes, painful mouth sores, and boils; recently, my left ankle gave out with no warning, causing me to fall into the street. These collective ailments are difficult to endure, but the neurological issues and daily anxiety have become the most disturbing and intolerable. It has become more and more challenging – many days literally impossible – simply to follow normal daily routines.
I have been unable to pursue more intensive Lyme treatment due to the high cost; therefore, I’ve turned to Go Fund Me in hopes of raising the funds needed for an intensive medical retreat.
Dr. Omar Morales operates a clinic in Puerto Vallarta called Lyme Mexico, which provides up to 24 different forms of therapy. The treatment is a six- to eight-week process. My research uncovered compelling evidence that Lyme Mexico excels in terms of treatment options, patient care, and intensity of program. Estimated costs are: Treatment, $20,000; rental and food, $2,500; and travel, $1,500.
My battle will be difficult. Many treatments actually worsen a patient’s symptoms before signs of improvement appear. I expect it will be a long, lonely process, but well worth the effort to regain my quality of life.
I am extremely grateful for any support you can offer.
Sincerely,
Sue ORiley
