Recipes for Resilience is a community cookbook that will take you on a fantastic food journey with refugee and undocumented migrant womxn living in Washington, D.C. It will include recipes that celebrate the rich food traditions of homes they left behind and will include immigrant rights information, and how to be-an-ally tips for non-immigrants. What are the funds for?
The project was started with seed funding from a micro-grant from Burners without Borders. Much of the grant is directed towards community gatherings with women and providing honorariums to recipe contributors. At this time, to cover the cost of a small print run of the book for free distribution to the participating communities.
