Recently, Bob’s health took a devastating turn. After a recurrence three years ago from prostate cancer, doctors recently discovered something even more severe: high-grade bladder cancer. Tests have confirmed that it has spread beyond the bladder wall, into his bones and throughout his body.

Bob has been given a 9% chance of surviving 9 to 12 months.

For the past 18 years, Bob has been a devoted single father. After a heartbreaking divorce, he was awarded sole custody of his son, Claus. Bob made it his life’s mission to help Claus heal from severe childhood abuse and the deep scars of PTSD that followed. He poured everything he had into creating a safe, stable life for his son—emotionally, financially, and physically.

Now 80 years old, Bob continues to fight for his son’s future even after suffering a catastrophic fall at work two years ago, breaking his tibia and several bones in his foot. That injury ended his 12-year job and began an uphill battle that they can no longer face alone.

Bob can no longer manage many of the basic tasks of daily life. Claus, still struggling with the lasting effects of trauma, has stepped into the role of full-time caregiver. But the demands are overwhelming, and the financial burden has become impossible.
