Most of you know me but in case you don't, I graduated chiropractic school last month, whoa! I started riding mountain bikes in 2012 as a "cheaper alternative to horseback riding"... which it was until halfway through my chiropractic school journey when I started racing.
Last year was my first real year of racing. I joined a team and signed up for the California Enduro Series, Expert Women category and ended up doing a whole lot better than I ever imagined. My goal was to get on the podium (anywhere, emphasize anywhere, on the podium) at least once that season. Somehow, I found myself on the podium every race and more often than not at the top of it.
I often showed up to races alone, self-supported but rarely found myself alone or self-supported for long. The enduro community took me in, helped me, housed me, befriended me, inspired me and left me in absolute awe that I was ever afraid to show up and join this awesome racing community.
Since last year, I have picked up a product sponsorship and ambassador role from Specialized Bicycles. I am still racing with Dsendit - a bad ass and fun team based out of the Central Coast of California. This year however, I am excited (and nervous!) to say I will be racing Pro and traveling a whole lot further for the sport than I ever imagined. Product sponsorship has been amazing but covering the cost of race entries and travel expenses are still a piece (read: BIG chunk) of the puzzle not yet figured out.
As a recent grad (with minimal income and massive debt, blah blah blah) I am looking for financial support to help cover costs of racing and traveling through the 2018 season. Below is a race schedule and break down of the associated costs :)
Alexandra's 2018 Race Schedule:
March 24/25: Lo Barnechea, Chile (Enduro World Series).
March31/April1: Manizales, Colombia (Enduro World Series).
May 19: Hood River, Oregon (Cascade Dirt Cup Series).

July 7: Keystone, CO (Big Mountain Enduro Series).
July 14: Mammoth Mountain, CA (California Enduro Series).
August 12: Whistler, B.C. (Enduro World Series).
August 25-26: Northstar, CA (California Enduro Series).
2018 Estimated Cost of Racing Breakdown:
Race Entry Fees, Total: $1130
Domestic Travel: $1250
International Travel: $3,000
Total Estimated Cost for 2018: $5,380
When I first started riding I never dreamed it would become such a large part of my life. I never dreamed I’d one day be racing, especially not with a team and definitely not at a professional level or with product sponsorship from one of the biggest bike manufacturers out there. Even a year ago if you had told me this would happen I would have laughed and called you absolutely crazy. This bicycle thing turned lifestyle obsession has taken me on one big fat adventure I’d never imagined for myself. Along the way I’ve met so many amazing and supportive, encouraging, fun-loving people and experienced quite a lot of beautiful, inspiring bad-ass places.
Regardless of whether you choose to support me financially, know that I am forever and immensely grateful for all the amazing friends and family I have been graced with in my life.
If you donate, you will receive a hand-written thank you from yours truly as well as media shout outs. I am also looking into having some AWESOME 'Live it n Love it' stickers made sooo that may be a gift to those who donate $20 or more as well! Also, if you want to share/re-post this link on your Facebook or whatever that is also greatly appreciated :)
Cheers to being fearless in pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.
Live it n love it!
