Hi, my name is Cynthia Hinojosa. I am in desperate need of getting a surgery that I currently cannot afford. I have been diagnosed with Endometriosis which is affecting my colon, bladder and possibly my lungs. I have been living with pain since the age of 14 undergoing numerous colonoscopy’s and CT scans since the age of 16. It has taken 25 years for doctors to give me a diagnosis as even in advanced stages, Endometriosis cannot been detected with blood work or imaging. If left untreated my colon can suffer permanent damage and my lung can collapse. There are only roughly 12 specialists in the United States who treat advanced advanced cases of the disease and excise the endometrium from the organs and areas of the body they have invaded. There are no specialists within my health insurances network and my insurance will not cover the hospital bill or the surgeons fees since they are out of network. Since October of 2022 the disease has rapidly progressed and I have lost the ability to drive or perform simple tasks. If I do not receive prompt surgery I will lose my job due to not being able to perform the work and more importantly not be able to care for my family. I have a 6 year old daughter and have been my mothers legal guardian and caregiver since she sustained a traumatic head injury when I was 15 years old. After my mother got in the car accident I started working to support myself and was able to finish high school despite many obstacles. I developed medical bills since the age of 15 due to my symptoms but have always able to pay for them by working hard and keeping my symptoms manageable with medication. Medication is no longer working and surgery is the only solution. I have made a promise to myself and God that once my health is restored that I will be an advocate for this disease and will help other women who are also suffering. I found a surgeon in Atlanta GA who can perform surgery on me with a multiple disciplinary surgical team to treat all areas affected. I want to get the surgery as soon as possible so I will not lose my job, my home and continue to be able to help others. I also promised my daughter that I will be able to take her to Disneyland when mommy is better. I know in my heart that someway somehow someone will see my post and feel in their heart to help me and my family pay for this surgery. I included the total cost of the surgery quote and will need to come up with half of the total cost to schedule a surgery date. Thank you for taking the time to read my story!
