I am reaching out because a friend of ours was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. While he has been battling colorectal cancer for over three years, his prognosis has recently taken a turn - and as a friend I simply cannot sit back and do nothing - I hope that you can help me make a wish come true.
Many of you know Nigel Weston either through family, friends or work, and may or may not even be aware of the disease he has been battling. You may not have known he is sick, because he has not once asked for pity, or for help. His strength, optimism, determination and charm have masked the severity of his illness and the severe pain he has been living with - he has held strong for those that he loves and I am in awe of that. Then again, if you know Nigel - you wouldn't expect anything less. While Nigel loves soccer (he's a Brit - don't they all), wine, friends and his cat...there is nothing in the world that means more to him than family. His wife Sandra, son Cameron, daughter Annabelle and daughter Lily are the reason he gets up everyday to fight this horrible disease - they are his everything, and he is theirs. The road ahead is unclear, and as the cancer and tumors spread Nigel's ability to enjoy special moments with his family may become more difficult. This is why I am asking that we do something now - to help Nigel and his family make memories that will last a lifetime for Sandra, Cameron, Annabelle and Lily. What better place to experience magic, laughter and love than Disney World! (They have never been!!) I hope that you will help make this dream come true....our goal is for them to get to Disney in early summer, so any help is appreciated!!
"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together.. there is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. but the most important thing is, even if we're apart.. I'll always be with you."
