Help Marisol & Her Son Rebuild After Loss
My 16-year-old son and I are facing one of the hardest seasons of our lives. After leaving an abusive relationship and relocating from California three years ago, we now find ourselves isolated, grieving multiple losses, and struggling with long-term job loss. I’m doing everything I can to rebuild, but we urgently need support to stay afloat and keep moving forward.
Disclaimer: Some of you may know my estranged father recently passed, but this fundraiser is NOT for funeral expenses. It is for personal living costs to help my son and me navigate long-term job loss, grief, and rebuilding our lives after multiple losses.
Within just five months last year, we endured life-altering challenges: I lost my job, and we suffered two painful family losses. The grief is heavy, and with no nearby family support, it’s been just my son and me trying to carry everything. Some days, even getting through schoolwork and dinner feels overwhelming—but we keep going, one step at a time.
Asking for help hasn’t been easy. I’ve always worked hard to provide for my son and prided myself on staying independent. But after long-term job loss and unexpected family losses, I’ve realized that sometimes strength means allowing others to step in and walk with you. This fundraiser is about giving us the chance to breathe, heal, and rebuild.
Professionally, I have over 10 years of experience in business development (mainly in the supplement industry) and over 5 years as a university recruiter in higher education. Despite applying to more than 500 jobs, the market has been incredibly tough, and I’m now facing long-term unemployment.
While continuing my job search, I’m rebuilding my life piece by piece through three paths that give me hope:
- Coaching – helping other moms navigate high-conflict and toxic co-parenting.
- Keynote Speaking – sharing my story of Imperfect Resilience, showing that brokenness and healing can coexist.
- Business Development – relaunching the business I once lost, working with wellness brands on strategy, partnerships, and wholesale operations.
Each of these paths is more than work—it’s healing, redemption, and a way to build a stronger future for my son and me. Every bit of support—whether a donation, sharing this page, or connecting me with opportunities—helps us take one step closer to stability and hope.
