Robin’s Rebuilding Efforts in the Bahamas

Heading back down to the Bahamas February 22 thanks to all of your amazing love and support my wonderful friends and family!! I will carry your kindness and generosity in my heart with me as I go back to help these families in need! Love y’all so much!!! On September 1, 2019 Hurricane Dorian slammed into the Bahamas as one of the worse Atlantic Hurricanes on record. Most of the island of Grand Bahamas still lies in ruins with families living in their destroyed homes without water, electricity, walls, or proper roofs. It's just desperate! On January 11th I joined a team of contractors, roofers, plumbers, and carpenters to head down to the Bahamas and do what we could to help. What we found was heartbreaking! We met a single mom, who was recently widowed, and was living with her two children in their gutted home with no water, or power, or walls, or furniture, and with water pouring in through the many holes in her roof. She and the kids were sleeping on their bare concrete floors. Her neighbor, an elderly disabled man was living in the same conditions. The 12 of us worked around the clock for 7 days, and were able to put brand new roofs on each of the houses, fix the plumbing and electric, hang Sheetrock, and install a working bathroom and kitchen for each family!! It was amazing, but there are so many more families in need! So we are planning on going back down again in February and hopefully again in March. We all volunteered our time, and went completely at own expense. I’m asking for your help to get me there to continue rebuilding shattered homes and lives!! I will use 50% of whatever is raised for travel expenses, and the other 50% to purchase materials for the homes we work on. Thank you with all my heart!
