Rebuilding the Scheuermann Family’s Life
Donation protected
For those of you that know the Scheuermann family, you know that this tragedy could not have happened to kinder people. Karen and Neal bought the house last year as newlyweds, beyond proud to finally have a place to make theirs. The memories of the first year of their marriage were made within those walls—Neal quietly renovating as Karen tried to sleep from her night shifts as an ICU Nurse at Strong Memorial Hospital. But amongst the loss of a myriad of objects—their home, sentimental heirlooms, and all of their belongings—nothing resonates more deeply than the loss of their sweet boy, Boomer. He was the family baby; he was the four-legged family member that saved them when they were at their lowest. While no monetary gift could ever replace Boomer’s doofy love or all that was lost in the fire, Neal and Karen have a long road to recovery, with substantial incurring medical bills and finding a sense of normalcy admits their upturned life.
Both Neal and Karen are currently in the ICU in stable condition, receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the fire.
