Mara, William, and Logan lost their home and barn in a fire on Monday, October 22. This Go Fund Me will help them get back on their feet as. Here's what Mara has to say: 

"After 4 hours of running errands, I decided to take a nap before doing a huge dump run. The boys, Logan and William, woke me up telling me that they were smelling smoke out front. We ran outside to find our neighbors house smoking and ultimately going up in flames.

During the 15 minutes we were trying to defend our property, we lost the opportunity to pull any valuables, treasures, or evacuation boxes from our home. Our goats and alpacas were moved safely to their lower pasture. Animal control along with friends and neighbors helped us feed, water and milk our crew. William saved our two small dogs. And we have seen 2 of our cats. We are saddened that we may have lost one cat...and few ducklings. 

We are left with our land, our animals, a small barn and their run in. Our house is destroyed. Chicken coops and 2 other barns and my moms trailer are all gone. We all managed to get our cell phones, no chargers, medications but no cpap, and the clothes on our back. So many neighbors, friends, strangers helped us today. So many of you are offering to help.

I am figuring out where we will live while we rebuild. Where the animals will stay... how we are going to do this.

We are sleeping in a hotel tonight.... at least trying to sleep. I'm not sure what to ask for in terms of help...gift cards to Target, Walmart, Gas cards. We don't have space other than the back of our car for storage.

I cant think clearly....we had an evacuation plan in place all summer. Thought we were so prepared. We had just cleaned out our barn yesterday and moved our evacuation boxes in there. The barn was the first to go.

Devastating to lose it all. Insurance will kick in. Not sure when. Not sure when we can rebuild.
