We need help rebuilding after Hurricane Eta!
Sacred Lands Preservation and Education is a 501(c)3 non-profit that operates on 3 acres of land featuring the remnants of a Tocobaga Indian village and mound complex on Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, FL. The stewards of the land are dedicated to preservation, and to protecting it from development and destruction. Here, Sacred Lands hosts events teaching people about the important Indigenous history of Florida (and our nation as a whole). Weekly cultural events serve our community and provide connection to our past.
Two weeks ago, Eta impacted our area, causing three feet of storm surge on the historic property. It flooded the greenhouse, swept away a portion of the sea wall, and destroyed two docks that are used for Sacred Lands events such as the bi-weekly peace meditation and weekly chanting, which are free to attend and help connect participants to nature, to Spirit, to our ancestors, and to each other.
Our volunteers have been awesome in helping clean up the property post-storm, but unfortunately there are major repairs that require funding we just don't have. We're raising money to help restore the spaces that are used for Sacred Lands Preservation and Education Inc, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
