In the early morning of Sunday, August 10th, Brian, Bethany, Brailey, and Brecken Baxter’s world was turned upside down. Rising waters from the Menomonee River rushed into their Wauwatosa home, forcing them to evacuate with only what they could carry—including their sweet puppy, Bo.
When the floodwaters finally receded, the damage was overwhelming. Over five feet of water filled their basement, destroying the family room and nearly everything stored below. Years of belongings, memories, and essentials were lost. While the Baxters do have flood insurance, it will not come close to covering the majority of the replacement costs for their home and possessions.
On top of the home damage, both Brian and Brailey’s cars were in the garage when the flood hit. Both vehicles have been deemed total losses. Insurance will cover part of Brian’s car, but unfortunately there is no replacement coverage for Brailey’s car.
The Baxters are a family who has always shown love, generosity, and support to everyone around them. Now, it’s our turn to rally around them as they face the long road of recovery. Replacing essential items, repairing their home, and securing transportation will be a tremendous financial burden.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to help the Baxters rebuild their lives after this devastating flood. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this difficult time.
My name is Erin, and together with their close friends and family, I share a deep bond with the Baxter family. Devastated by their loss, we are committed to walking beside them as they rebuild—offering the same love and care they’ve always shown to us and to so many others.
