Saturday night, Peacehaven Mosque was deliberately set on fire - a targeted arson attack confirmed by Sussex Police.
Two masked men came in the night, set a car on fire right outside the masjid, and walked off.
The fire spread to the building - scorching the walls and destroying the car completely.
Inside, our elderly caretaker was present. Alhamdulillah, he survived.
Let’s be clear - this wasn’t random. It was a planned attack with intent to harm.
But we’re not responding with anger or division.
We’re responding with unity, sabr, and action.
Peacehaven Mosque has always been a small community with a big heart.
We’ve built brotherhood here - youth activities, classes, community events - all run by volunteers who care about this town.
We’ve never had issues with anyone, and we won’t start now.
This was a test, and we’ll rise from it.
Our goal now is simple: rebuild stronger, safer, and future-proof our masjid - for everyone who calls this place home.
Your donation helps us repair the damage, replace what’s lost, and secure the mosque for generations to come - with better safety, stronger facilities, and protection against future harm.
If you can’t donate, share this everywhere. Let the world see how a small community stands tall after hate tries to knock it down.
We’ll rebuild Peacehaven Mosque - and we’ll come back stronger, in shā’ Allāh
